Temperatures will reach their maximum in the 70s for the Cape and Islands with a healthy southwest breeze.

It's almost 100-percent likely that we break the records in Boston of 72 set back in 1948 and Worcester of 76 set back in 1938!

We are on a roll, until...

Friday is a transition day between the extreme March warmth and the cooldown that will settle in this weeekend.

Friday will include increasing sunshine as well as 'cooler', still above average high temperatures in the 65-70 range.

This weekend will be cooler by the day.

Clouds will be increasing throughout the day on Saturday as a storm system currently affecting the nation's midsection heads this way.

There are a chance of showers on Saturday night and Sunday, especially south.

Highs on Saturday will be in the middle 50s while Sunday will return to 'seasonal territory' in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Next week, we will begin the week with highs in the 40s and 50s with chillier overnight lows in the 30s.

That being said, we have the risk of frost throughout the month of April so don't put your green thumb to work just yet.

On average, the last freeze is typically in mid-April for Boston and early May for the 'burbs.

One Alarm Clock Away...
