2 Randolph Women Charged With Stealing Merchandise From Several Provincetown Stores

PROVINCETOWN (CBS) -- Two Randolph women have been charged with stealing more than $1,400 worth of merchandise from several businesses, Provincetown police say.

On Thursday, police were called by a shop owner who said five small canvas bags had been allegedly stolen from her gallery. She gave police a description of the suspects and alerted other store owners to be on the lookout for them.

Later that same day, another store owner saw the suspects as they entered a different shop downtown.

Officers spoke with them outside their hotel room, and later recovered $1,430 worth of merchandise taken from five additional businesses.

Ana Hermina Gordon, 34, and Victoria Tatel, 33, were arrested and charged with larceny of property over $250.

Tatel was released on $100 cash bail, and Gordon was released on $500 cash bail.

Both women are scheduled to be arraigned at Orleans District Court on Friday.
