FALMOUTH (CBS) – Twin 15-year-old brothers were struck by a vehicle while they were riding bikes in Falmouth Tuesday afternoon. The collision happened at the intersection of Barrows Road and Baptiste Road at about 4:23 p.m.

Police were investigating two damaged bicycles in the road.

"It didn't even look like a bike. Like it was just all mangled up. It was, it was hard to see," said witness Lia Sweeting. "You could just see like the bikes and there was glass and backpacks and shoes all on the ground."

An Audi SUV that was towed from the area had a broken windshield.

"Later we found out it was two kids that go to school with us," said Adaesia O'Garro. "They don't live in our neighborhood but they come here a lot. And it was just difficult because we know who they are. It's not like it was someone random and this can happen to anybody. We have a bunch of kids in this neighborhood."

Two other bicyclists who were with the boys were not involved in the collision and were not injured.
