"What is troubling is, the pickup driver never stopped," Quincy Police Captain John Dougan told WBZ-TV.
"According to witnesses, there is no way the operator did not know that he struck somebody."
The younger man was taken to Quincy Medical Center but transferred to Tufts due to the severity of his injuries. The older victim was taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released their names yet.
Investigators are collecting video from nearby surveillance cameras and are asking area body shops to let them know if a dark colored pick up truck comes in with heavy front end damage.
"We would like to really get this person. We have two people that are injured very seriously," said Dougan.
"This is not a very honorable person."
Anyone with information should call Quincy police at (617) 479-1212.
