2 Men Charged With Robbing Several Boston Businesses
BOSTON (CBS) -- Two men have been charged with robbing several Boston businesses over the past three weeks.
Marion Griffin, 44, and 34-year-old Gerald Silbey, both of Boston, were taken into custody in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Vesta Street in Dorchester on Friday night.
Griffin has been charged with armed robbery, while Silbey is facing multiple charges including armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. Police say they found a silver-colored gun on Silbey.
Investigators haven't ruled out bring additional charges against both men.
Police say the men robbed 10 businesses between Aug. 21 and Sept. 9 in Mattapan, Dorchester, and the South End. Cash and cigarettes were among the items stolen from several convenience stores, police say, and the men also robbed a McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts in Dorchester.
Boston police's Special Investigations Unit, Youth Violence Strike Force, and Brookline police are working together on the ongoing investigation.
