1st Taste Of Autumn Is Nearing

Summerlike weather is in the works through midweek, but our first taste of Autumn is right around the corner. The Full 'Harvest' Moon is this morning at exactly 5:27am.

Today, we'll have a mixture of sun and clouds with highs near 80F inland...middle to upper 70s Cape/Islands.  There is a slight chance of an isolated storm across Western New England this afternoon.  Tuesday will be another summerlike day before a cold front approaches on Wednesday.  Our next bona fide chance of showers and storms will be late-day Wednesday.  That same front will move slowly to the east due to the upper level wind flow. So, we will hold onto a chance of showers through midday Thursday.  This front marks the turning point from summerlike weather to our 1st true' taste of Autumn' this year.

Thursday and Friday will be stark reminders that Fall is just more than a week away. Highs will be in the 60s.

Atlantic Tropical Update:  T.S. Maria is heading northwest at around 9mph. Currently, there are 60mph winds.  Maria's track looks similar to Katia, which means it stays offshore. We can expect high surf  on Thursday and Friday as 'Maria' reaches its closest point to New England.
