19-Year-Old Driver Charged In Fatal Accident In Canton
CANTON (CBS) – A young driver was ordered held on $10,000 bail Friday in connection with a deadly accident in Canton.
Timothy Ciriello, 19, of Norwood, is charged with running down a 63-year-old woman at the intersection of Wattle and Chapman streets Thursday evening.
He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday in Stoughton District Court.
According to the police report, the woman ended up hitting the car's windshield, shattering glass on Ciriello and his friend in the front passenger seat.
Instead of stopping, Ciriello drove on briefly while his friend pleaded with him to pull over. Ciriello eventually stopped and walked back to the scene.
He was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing death.
The woman was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where she died.
Her name has not been released.
A spokesperson for the Registry of Motor Vehicles told WBZ-TV Ciriello's drivers license was revoked indefinitely Friday under the immediate threat provision.
