Family Members Call On Libya To Release Boston-Based Journalist
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - Family members of a Boston-based journalist trapped in Libya called for his immediate release on Thursday.
Relatives of James Foley gathered at the Memorial Church in Cambridge for a candlelight vigil.
Foley and another reporter, Clare Gillis have been imprisoned in Libya since last month.
Both were doing reports on the rebel uprising in Libya when pro-Moammar Gadhafi soldiers captured them.
We think it's very important that people are aware that innocent journalists are being detained in Libya... more than a month now," said mom Diane Foley.
Both the Gillis and Foley families have heard from the captured journalists and have been told they're being treated well in captivity.
