12 Injured In Mission Hill Porch Collapse
BOSTON (CBS) – A third-floor porch collapsed in Mission Hill on Friday night, sending seven people to Boston hospitals.
Boston EMS Deputy Supt. Mike Boss reported that a group of adults were on the porch at 1538 Tremont St. at about 11 p.m. when it collapsed onto the building's second-floor porch.
Five other people were treated at the scene. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening, the Boston Police Department reported in a prepared statement.

Multiple victims were on the collapsed deck when police officers arrived at the home, the Police Department reported. Boston firefighters were able to remove the second-floor porch door and safely rescue all of the victims, the police said.
The police reported that the most seriously hurt people were taken to the following hospitals: two victims were taken to Beth Israel Hospital, two victims were taken to Brigham & Women's Hospital, two victims were taken to Boston Medical Center, and one victim was taken to Tufts Medical Center.
Gage Delprete lives in the apartment and was on the deck when it collapsed. He said he had invited some friends over following an art opening.
"All of us were in mid-conversation and then suddenly the porch gave way," he said. "We're very fortunate that no one was seriously injured. But it was a surreal experience."
Delprete said because he lives with three other roommates, it's not unusual for as many as 10 people to be out on the deck at one time.
Inspectors have been called in to investigate the cause of the collapse and to examine whether there may have been any building code violations.
At about 6:30 p.m. in Hopkinton, a deck collapsed at a two-family condominium on Trevor Lane, witnesses said.
Three people were hurt and taken to a local hospital, the witnesses said. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening, they said.
Officials are investigating the cause of the deck collapse but the homeowner told WBZ-TV that shoddy construction was a factor.
