NORTH READING (CBS) – A fire leveled a maintenance garage that housed about $1 million worth of golf course equipment at the Thomson Country Club Golf Course in North Reading early Saturday morning.
North Reading police say they received several 911 calls just after 2 a.m. about a structure fire and the sound of explosions.
Firefighters arrived to find "heavy fire conditions."
Middleton, Wilmington, Reading, Lynnfield and Wakefield firefighters were all called in to help with the blaze.
Investigators believe the sounds of explosions were likely tires on maintenance equipment.
No injuries were reported during the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
