1 Convicted In Slaying Of Lowell Brothers
LOWELL (AP) — A Lowell man has been convicted of killing two brothers during a home invasion more than two years ago.
Ariel Hernandez was found guilty Monday in Lowell Superior Court of charges including first-degree murder for fatally shooting Luis and Hector Delgado in October 2009. A sentencing date has not been scheduled but first-degree murder carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors say the 24-year-old Hernandez was one of five men involved in the botched home invasion, but he was the one who pulled the trigger.
Two of his co-defendants were acquitted of charges including first-degree murder. Two others are awaiting trial on murder charges.
