Zinno and Marc Malusis Talk A-Rod and Yankees
Marc Malusis with WFAN New York joined Mark Zinno on the Glenn Younes Show to talk about Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees.
First the guys talked about Alex Rodriguez' quad injury and whether or not the Yankees were trying to keep him off the field in order for the MLB to suspend him.
"I don't think the Yankee doctors are making up an injury. Has A-Rod handled this situation well? No. I think what you've seen is an aggressive Alex Rodriguez that's mishandled some things. But I think he's very fearful he'll never be able to play baseball again on a major league level."
Zinno asked Mark if this A-Rod situation taints the "Yankee Brand".
"As long as they win they'll still be fine. I still think the Yankee brand is pretty healthy. It's just a sorted affair they have to work their way through."
Then Marc talked about the development of the new CBA in the Major Leagues.
"13 years ago I think the steroid users were the majority and the clean players were the minority. I think right now the clean players are the majority and the steroid users are the minority."
Marc also discussed Brian Cashman telling Alex Rodriguez to shut the f--- up and the relationship between the Yankees and A-Rod.
"I think it showed the frustration with the player. The fact that they realized the player is no longer worth the money that they are going to pay him."
"I think both sides don't trust one another. I think the Yankees have grown tired of Alex Rodriguez and since George (Steinbrenner) passed away, Cashman has become the voice of the organization."
