X-Ray Screening Flags Gun In Bag At Md. Courthouse
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- The Prince George's County Sheriff's Office says courthouse security spotted a loaded handgun in a man's tote bag during an X-ray screening.
Officials say Troy Jonathan Kent went to the courthouse in Upper Marlboro on Thursday for an appointment with his probation officer, but security staff at the entrance spotted the gun as his bag passed through the X-ray machine. Deputies responded and took Kent into custody.
Officials say the 9mm handgun was fully loaded.
Kent was charged with possession of a concealed dangerous weapon and is being held on $100,000 bond.
