Worcester County Cancels Burn Ban
SNOW HILL, Md. (AP) -- Worcester County has canceled a burn ban that has been in effect since the first week in July.
The Daily Times of Salisbury reported Monday that Worcester County Fire Marshal Jeff McMahon made the decision following rainfall last week. McMahon, however, is cautioning that rainfall varied throughout the county, and he is reminding residents that Maryland law requires all fires to be attended from start to finish.
The ban was imposed because of increased fire risk on the Eastern Shore during the recent heat wave.
