Women Charged In Deadly Traffic Incidents In Md.

LA PLATA, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say two women are facing criminal charges in deadly traffic incidents in Charles County.

The county sheriff's office says Jacqline V. Kierra Mack, 21, of Waldorf was arrested on March 31. Authorities say Mack was driving in Waldorf when she lost control of her car, jumped a curb and struck Andre Nelson Shorts in November.

Shorts, 31, later died at a hospital.

Authorities say a grand jury indicted Mack on charges of vehicular manslaughter.

Rachel Buckler, 21, of Pomfret was arrested on March 28. Authorities say Buckler was indicted on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving a death in Port Tobacco in September.

Authorities say a passerby found Thomas Roepcke unconscious on the side of a road.

Roepcke, 47, later died at a hospital.
