Woman's Body Found During Macon Search

MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Police in Macon say a woman's body has been found outside an apartment building where a 27-year-old woman who had been reported missing lived.

Police had been searching for Lauren Giddings, a recent graduate of Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law who had been preparing to take the bar exam.

Officers say the body has not been identified and that they're treating the case as a homicide.

Macon Police Chief Mike Burns said Thursday the department has two "persons of interest" in the case.

A neighbor and classmate says Giddings, a native of Laurel, Md., and a graduate of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, had expressed concerns that someone had been trying to break into her apartment.
