Woman Pulled From Burning Car By 2 Men Passing By
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Authorities in Prince George's County say a woman trapped in a burning car after a crash in Upper Marlboro was saved by two men who pulled her out.
Fire officials say the woman couldn't get out of her car Thursday morning because of her injuries and possible shock. The
crash happened on Watkins Park Drive about 8:45 a.m.
Authorities say Johnnie Wichard of Lothian and Andre Matlock of Upper Marlboro were driving separately near the scene and both stopped when they saw the car burst into flames. The men pulled the woman to safety as the fire spread.
Witnesses say the fire engulfed the vehicle moments after the driver was pulled out.
The woman was taken to a trauma center with serious injuries but is expected to survive.
