Woman Pleads Guilty To Valentine's Day Crash That Killed Newlyweds
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A woman is set for sentencing after pleading guilty to charges in a Valentine's Day 2016 crash that killed two newlyweds in Edgewater.
Lauren Scott pleaded guilty to twp counts of grossly negligent manslaughter by vehicle. As part of the guilty plea, drug-related charges were dropped.
According to the Capital Gazette, police said Scott admitted to using marijuana and heroin before the accident.
A 20 year prison sentence was recommended, with all but eight years suspended. She is set to be sentenced June 9.

Daniel and Kayla Amos were killed last year during a head-on collision on Valentine's Day.
Scott was driving southbound on Solomons Island Rd., when witnesses said she veered into oncoming traffic, striking a Honda the Amos' were in.
Daniel died at the scene. Kayla was taken to a hospital, but died the next day.
