Woman Indicted In Fatal DWI Crash In Washington
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. Attorney's Office says a D.C. grand jury has indicted a Maryland woman on charges of involuntary manslaughter in a fatal drunken-driving accident in Adams Morgan.
The office said Wednesday that Chamica Adams, 24, of Mitchellville has also been indicted on charges of aggravated assault, driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Adams was arrested on Sept. 8 after her car struck two women at 18th Street and Florida Avenue, and then veered into a restaurant.
One of the women, 26-year-old Julia Bachleitner of Austria died six days later.
Adams is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Jan. 14.
