Woman Gets 15 Years For Western Md. Bank Robbery
OAKLAND, Md. (AP) -- A Pennsylvania woman is serving a 15-year-prison sentence for robbing a bank in the western Maryland town of Grantsville.
Amy McBride, 47, of Spring Grove, Pa., was sentenced Thursday in Garrett County Circuit Court.
She was also ordered to pay more than $2,000 in court costs.
A jury found McBride guilty in March of robbing an M&T Bank branch last June.
Police say she wore a disguise and claimed she had a gun in a note she handed to a bank employee.
Another customer followed her from the bank and obtained her vehicle tag number. The information helped police catch McBride about 45 minutes after the robbery.
