Woman Faces Murder Charges In 2-Year-Old Son's Stabbing Death
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A 2-year-old boy died after being stabbed multiple times in his neck. Now his mother is being charged with his murder.
When police arrived in the 1400-block of Broening Highway, they found Nicole Fitzgerald, 32, standing in a stairwell, holding a knife pointed at herself. Her 2-year-old son, Paris Russell, was dead on the floor from multiple stab wounds to the neck. She was then rushed to the hospital after she cut her own throat.
Fitzgerald was released from the hospital Tuesday. She now faces murder, child abuse and reckless endangerment charges.
The little boy's aunt and uncle say Fitzgerald has been dealing with mental health problems, but no one in the family expected this.
