Woman Convicted Of Stealing $376K Gets 15 Years
SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- A woman convicted of stealing $376,000 from her employer, forcing the company into bankruptcy, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Diane King, 53, of Ocean Pines, who had been convicted of theft scheme and other offenses, was sentenced Thursday in Wicomico County Circuit Court.
Prosecutors say between 2007 and 2010, King stole from Addcon, a Salisbury construction company, and used the money to fund an extravagant lifestyle featuring new cars, cruises and plastic surgery.
The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that company owner Kirk Kinnamon said in court that King's theft had caused him to lose his home, his business and much of his retirement savings.
