OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WJZ)-- A woman was hit and killed in a busy Target parking lot while holding her granddaughter late Saturday night.
Baltimore County Police said 67-year-old Ravinder Rao parked her car in the Target parking lot in Owings Mills and was getting her 11-month-old granddaughter from the back seat when the driver of a Nissan Altima struck Rao's car.

"That Nissan Altima, when it approached the victim's vehicle, was attempted to maneuver between that car and another car that was parking. At that point the Altima- the responsible vehicle- struck the victim's parked car which ultimately hit her as well sending she and the child to the ground," said Andrea Bylen, with Baltimore County Police.
Police said when the two fell, the baby was outside the path of the Nissan Altima.
"The Altima continued driving forward, striking the victim directly," Bylen said.
Responding officers said Rao was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 11-month-old was taken to the hospital where she is in good condition.
The driver has been charged for driving without a license, and the incident is a reminder from police to slow down.
"This is a tragic event, and we would urge and encourage drivers especially in a business area to slow down and please pay careful attention to your surroundings," Bylen said.
Police added there are other charges related to the incident that are pending a review by the State's Attorney's Office.
