Woman Accused Of Beating Elderly Man Finally Has Day In Court

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The woman accused in the beating of an elderly Baltimore man finally faces justice. Anastacia Oluoch had her day in court Wednesday afternoon.

Christie Ileto explains what's next for the 59-year-old and the family she's accused of hurting.

It's one step closer to justice for Jaki Taylor and her family.

"Whatever it takes to bring my dad justice," Jaki Taylor said.

And now that means going to trial in the case against her father's former caregiver, Anastacia Oluoch.

"For someone to get what the judge offered--was offered the five years--and not take it but your attorney was willing to take it but you weren't, you haven't come to reality," Taylor said. "So we're going to trial in February."

Oluoch is accused of beating Taylor's 90-year-old father, John, at his West Baltimore home back in 2007. Gut-wrenching home security video inside Taylor's home is at the center of it all.

Oluoch was hired to care for Taylor's father, who was bedridden after suffering two strokes. She was arrested by police back in 2007 for abusing John Taylor but when she posted bond, fled to Kenya. Her extradition was a first for Baltimore PD back in August of this year.

"He knows I'm a die-hard and he knows I'm going to fight, especially for him," Jaki Taylor said.

That means getting what Taylor calls the right amount of time for the crime Oluoch committed.

"We were looking for 10. I was willing to settle for eight," Taylor said.

John Taylor passed away in February 2009.
