Winter Weather System May Bring Rain To Baltimore, D.C. Area
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Forecasters say a winter weather system moving toward the East Coast may only bring rain to the Washington and Baltimore areas.
National Weather Service meteorologist Andrew Snyder says the metropolitan areas of Baltimore and Washington will likely sit on the fringe of the storm with more rain than wintry precipitation Friday night into Saturday. Temperatures are likely to hover around the freezing mark or just above.
There may be more snow and lower temperatures in areas north and west of Baltimore and Washington.
Snyder says this is not looking like a major winter storm. He says there could be 1 to 4 inches of snow in areas to the north and west of the metropolitan area.
The highest snow accumulation is expected west of Philadelphia, New York City and Boston.
