Wind To Blame For Power Outages, Baltimore Building Collapse
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The wind is causing major problems around our region--it's even responsible for a building collapse on Cooksie Street.

The building was empty and under construction after a fire just last month. The winds caused it to collapse and bricks to rain down into the street. There were no injuries reported in that collapse.
Another car had a tree fall on top of it because of the wind.
BGE says they've pumped up staff because of the wind.
In addition to that, trees are falling on power lines, causing widespread outages. BGE is reporting more than 17,000 outages, most of them in Baltimore County.
"When the ground is saturated from the impending rain, when we have the high gusts that can bring trees and tree limbs down onto power lines and equipment causing outages, we do have an increased number of field crews, call center representatives to handle calls and tree crews out so they can respond to any tree-related calls," said Rachael Lighty.
