Norfolk State Beats Morgan State 64-59
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Pendarvis Williams had a game-high 22 points to lift Norfolk State past Morgan State 64-59 Monday night in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game.
Brandon Goode added 12 points for the Spartans (14-10, 9-0), who have won eight straight games.
Trailing 59-54 with 3 minutes to play, DeWayne Jackson made a layup to cut the deficit to 59-56, and then Tauron Bailey made a free throw to bring the Bears within two, 59-57, with 2:04 remaining.
After Williams' layup with 30 seconds left pushed Norfolk State's lead to 61-57, Justin Black made a jumper with 24 seconds left to bring the Bears back within two, 61-59.
Morgan State (6-13, 3-5) missed two 3-pointers and had one turnover in the final 21 seconds while the Spartans converted three free throws to ensure the victory.
Jackson had 18 points for the Bears, who have lost three in a row.
