Where's Marty? Checking out Baltimore's stained glass history at the Peale 01:20

Hi Everyone!

Good to be back with you! And we kicked off this week of "Where's Marty?" with a stained glass exhibit at the Peale Museum on Holiday Street next to City Hall.

(For those of you who do not know, the Peale Museum, https://www.thepeale.org/ celebrates our city, our communities. It would be easy to visit for an hour or so then move onto lunch downtown, or a visit to another one of Baltimore's fine museums. Hit up that website link I posted for more info.)

Curated by Dr. Linda Rabben, an anthropologist by trade, the exhibit is called, "Through a Glass Darkly."

It traces the social history of stained glass in Baltimore.

Her companion book is available at the Maryland Center for History and Culture, or on their website at https://www.mdhistory.org/

And if you look around the city, and the early suburban push, there is a lot of stained glass to enjoy.

We were joined this morning by Jeffrey Meyers. He is a very talented man who works with glass art at a very high level, and he gave us excellent insight into the art form, and the new generation of glass artists on the scene.

Look behind me, Jeffrey refurbished that pane of stained glass from a local church.

We want to thank the Peale Museum for hosting us again on this day. It was our second visit here and there will be more from this fine facility to show you in the future.
