Western Md. Man Gets 15 Months In Fatal Crash
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Hagerstown man is beginning a 15-month jail term for his role in a three-vehicle crash that killed a Delaware woman.
Cory Kuczynski, 26,was sentenced Friday in Washington County Circuit Court.
He pleaded guilty in April to driving under the influence and leaving the scene of the crash in May 2010 near Sharpsburg.
Danielle Paikin, 21, of Newark, Del., was killed in the wreck. Police say she was a passenger in a car that first collided head-on with another vehicle and was then hit by Kuczynski.
Kuczynski is due back in court later this month on another matter. He allegedly scuffled on Memorial Day with a state trooper who had been called to his home for a fireworks complaint.
