WEATHER BLOG: Soggy
One look at the regional radar Friday will show the trouble that we'll be dealing with. The Greater DC Metro Area was absolutely pummeled by heavy rain during the night, and there are still numerous Flash Flood Warnings that remain in effect.
As that rain with embedded thunder and lightning continues to creep to the east, we are obviously concerned that some of the rain in the Greater Baltimore Area will come down hard enough to cause some flooding.
At Dulles International Airport, they have had more than four inches. In some of the pockets of heavy rain throughout Maryland on Friday, there could be a general 2-4 inches of rain in less than four hours time, making for a very messy morning commute for some, and just a miserable day for others.
The low pressure system that is going to cause all of this rain is going to consolidate along the coast this evening, and all of the rain should taper to showers before ending probably around midnight. There still could be a couple of showers and a thunderstorm here Saturday, but the chances will be lesser on Sunday before we revert back to a hot and humid weather pattern early next week.
Have a good weekend!
