WCI Inmate Stabbed; Homemade Weapons Found
CRESAPTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Corrections officials say an inmate at the Western Correctional Institution in Cresaptown has been stabbed.
It happened about 11:40 a.m. Friday as inmates were returning from lunch. The victim was stabbed on a walkway. He was taken by ambulance to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
According to the Cumberland Times-News, officials found three homemade weapons and five suspected assailants have been put on administrative segregation.
WCI is a maximum-security institution. It houses about 1,650 inmates.
