Water Main Break Causes $100K Damage To Housing
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Housing Authority officials say a broken 24-inch water main caused about $100,000 in damage to Banneker Gardens.
Cumberland Housing Authority executive director Steve Kesner says Wednesday's break caused minor flooding on the first floor, but playground equipment, steps on the property and bleachers on the half basketball court were damaged.
The City of Cumberland is working to make repairs.
The 25-unit property is the only non-smoking property that the Housing Authority has.
