Vision Airlines To Offer Flights To Bahamas
SUWANEE, Ga. (AP) -- Vision Airlines plans to start running flights between five U.S. cities and the Bahamas.
Bryan Glazer, a spokesman for the Georgia-based, low-fare airline, says the new flights start Thursday.
They will fly to Freeport International Airport on Grand Bahama Island from Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport, Md.; Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Fla.; Raleigh-Durham International Airport, N.C.; Richmond International Airport, Va. and Louisville International Airport, Ky.
Glazer says the new flights are part of a strategy to revitalize the tourism economy in the Bahamas and to fill gaps at some U.S. airports in the wake of airline consolidation.
