Virginia Beach Restaurant Uses Kaepernick Jersey As Welcome Mat
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WJZ)—A restaurant in Virginia Beach is apparently using a Colin Kaepernick jersey as a welcome mat.
One customer captured the "mat" on Facebook saying, "racism is real people and yes this is a racist act...an overall disgusting one!!! Boycott this racist (obscenity) bar!"
The Facebook user identifies the bar as Krossroads Cafe & Tavern located in the 4000 block of Pleasant Valley Road in Virginia Beach, Va.
WTKR spoke with the general manager of the bar who says "taping the jersey down was about sportsmanship and Kaepernick's disrespect of the flag - not race."
