Victim Coordinator Charged With Theft In Md.
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Officials in Maryland say a former victim and witness coordinator for the Frederick County State's Attorney's Office has been charged with felony theft of victim restitution funds.
Prosecutors allege that between February 2010 and March 2013, Leroy L. Ambush III stole restitution funds paid by criminal defendants on 56 separate occasions. Prosecutors say the total amount stolen was $20,700.
Ambush was fired in April. If convicted, Ambush faces up to 15 years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
A telephone message left for Ambush on Thursday morning was not immediately returned.
