Va Regs To Hold Hearings On Dominion Power Line
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia regulators are holding hearings in Winchester and Purcellville in April to receive public comment on Dominion Virginia Power's plan to rebuild a transmission line in northern Virginia.
Dominion is proposing to rebuild its 500-kilovolt line from Mt. Storm in West Virginia to the Doubs substation in Maryland. The 99-mile line runs through Frederick, Clarke, and Loudoun counties and would be rebuilt within the existing right-of-way.
Dominion has said the line constructed in 1966 must be rebuilt to maintain service.
The State Corporation Commission said it will hold a hearing in Winchester on April 5 and in Purcellville on April 6. Another hearing is set for June 20 in Richmond.
