Va. Man Convicted In Death Of Student At Party
GLENN DALE, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a 21-year-old Alexandria man has been convicted in the fatal shooting of a University of Maryland University College student.
Officials say Alusine Kanu was convicted of second-degree murder Tuesday in the slaying of Oluseun Fashina, 23, at a house party in Glenn Dale on April 17. Authorities say Kanu shot Fashina in the back after a fight broke out over spilled drinks.
Authorities say Kanu faces a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 23.
