Va. Bank Heist Suspect Linked To Md. Carjacking
CATONSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Police in Maryland say a woman wanted in a carjacking and bank robberies in northern Virginia has been linked to a Baltimore County carjacking.
Police say a woman drove Stephanie Schwab, 26, of Manassas, Va., from one Catonsville grocery store to another on Thanksgiving, but Schwab pulled out a knife and told her to keep driving. When the woman asked a passerby for help, police say Schwab tried to climb into the driver's seat and the driver cut her hand trying to grab the knife. Schwab fled on foot.
The next day officers found an Acura police say Schwab stole in a Nov. 19 carjacking in McLean, Va., outside the Catonsville grocery store where Schwab hitched the ride.
Police say Schwab is wanted in bank robberies in Manassas and Springfield.
