Unpaid Sex Act: State Corrections Worker Charged With Assault, Use Of Handgun
WOODLAWN, Md. (WJZ)—A man employed by the Maryland State Department of Corrections is arrested and charged with first-degree assault. Apparently, it stemmed from his refusal to pay for a sexual act.
William Hawkins, 26, is charged with first-degree assault, use of a handgun during a crime and having a handgun on his person.
The incident occurred Sunday night. A 19-year-old man approached an officer along Security Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. and reported an assault.
He told the officer that he met a man online and agreed to meet to perform a sexual act on the man in exchange for money.
The victim reported that Hawkins came to his home in the Woodlawn area and that he performed a sexual act on Hawkins.
During their encounter, Hawkins was wearing a uniform, but the badge and the name tag were missing. Hawkins then left without paying, and the victim followed him out to his car to ask for payment.
That's when Hawkins allegedly reached into a white SUV with K-9 on both rear windows and pulled out a handgun. He pointed the handgun at the victim, and demanded that the victim go back into his home to retrieve a cell phone that the suspect had left inside. The victim says he then got the cell phone from the home and Hawkins left.
Hawkins was released after posting $75,000 bail.
