UniverSoul Circus Is Back In Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- He's a graduate of Edmondson High School and 18 years ago he created one of the most popular attractions in the country. It's the UniverSoul Circus.
Ron Matz has more on the excitement under the big top now in Baltimore.
It's hip-hop under the big top. The UniverSoul Circus is back. The big tent is up at Security Square Mall and the king of clowns "Onionhead" is making everybody smile.
"We'll do 465 shows a year, 42 cities. We start in the south in Miami and Tampa, move up the East Coast and usually end up in Los Angeles on Thanksgiving Day," said Onionhead, also known as Robert Dunn.
You'll see everything here. From the high wire to the low wire. It's the heart and soul of family entertainment.
"We have acts from all over the world, from Ethiopia, China, Russia and South Africa. You name it and it's most likely under our big top," said Onionhead.
The UniverSoul Circus is now in its 18th year. It was founded by Baltimore's own Cedric Walker, a 1971 graduate of Edmondson High School.
"It's been great, it changed my life. It put motivation and youth in my life. Things that you'll never see anywhere else, you will experience it under the big top," said Onionhead.
Baltimore is part of a 42-city tour, where Onionhead will leave you laughing.
"Our shows are selling out fast. We've been on the road now since Feb. 12 and we have not had a show that has not been sold out. It's a very hot, motivated and upbeat show, so come on out," said Onionhead.
The UniverSoul Circus continues at Security Square Mall with performances through Sunday night.
