Unattended Food Stove Causes Fire
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The State Fire Marshal's Office says unattended food on a stove is the cause of a house fire in Hagerstown that caused $100,000 damage to the structure and contents.
Officials say the smoke alarms in the house were not working in Wednesday's fire.
Barbara Hosfeld, who lived in the house, tells The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown that three cats and two dogs died in the fire.
