UMd. School Of Law Receives $30 Million Donation
BALTIMORE (AP) -- The University of Maryland School of Law is being renamed following a $30 million gift from the W.P. Carey Foundation.
The school plans to announce the gift during a ceremony Monday afternoon with Gov. Martin O'Malley, faculty and alumni. The school will be renamed the Francis King Carey School of Law, after Mr. Carey's grandfather, an 1880 graduate.
The school says the gift will be used to establish a general endowment to support faculty development.
The Carey Foundation has also given $50 million to Johns Hopkins University for the Carey School of Business. It also contributed $50 million to Arizona State University for the W. P. Carey School of Business.
