UConn's Walker To Throw 1st Pitch At Yankees Game
STORRS, Conn. (AP) -- Connecticut basketball star Kemba Walker says he's a little nervous about appearing at Yankee Stadium.
Walker, who led UConn to its third national championship with a 53-41 win over Butler last week, has been asked to throw out the first pitch before Wednesday night's game between the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles.
Walker says he's been practicing. His coach, Jim Calhoun -- a Red Sox fan -- threw out the first pitch at Fenway Park during a game between the Yankees and Red Sox on Saturday.
Walker says he "didn't think it was that serious at first, but it's serious."
Walker grew up a Yankees fan in the Bronx. The junior announced Tuesday that he would be entering this year's NBA draft.
