Ubaldo Jimenez's Struggles Continue As Orioles Fall To Indians
Baltimore (WJZ) -- The Orioles gave up 4 runs in the first, Ubaldo Jimenez gets yanked in the second inning, and the Baltimore Orioles fall to the Cleveland Indians 11-4 on Saturday evening.
It was a rough start for the Orioles as Baltimore allowed 6 runs to be scored in the first 2 innings of play. SP Ubaldo Jimenez gave up 6 runs, 3 of which were earned, and was jettisoned from the mound soon after. Mike Napoli was safe at second on an error by 3B Pedro Alvarez that drove in 2 runs in the first inning. Napoli would score along with Jose Ramirez after a single by Yan Gomes drove them in.
The Indians would score seven runs before the Orioles got on the board themselves in the top of the 5th. Adam Jones would end the day with two RBI's including 1 off of a double sent to deep center during the seventh inning. Mark Trumbo had the best day of any Oriole going 3 of 4 albeit with no runs driven in.
The Orioles finished the day with 4 errors and 6 unearned runs. They also went a staggering 2 for 14 with runners in scoring position.
Baltimore will look to win the series on Sunday at 1:10pm ET when Chris Tillman (6-1 2.61 ERA) battles Mike Clevinger (0-1 8.71 ERA).
