U.S. Embassy Employee Sentenced For Illicit Sexual Conduct In Baltimore
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A U.S. embassy employee in the Philippines has been sentenced to five years in prison for abusing someone at a hotel in Baltimore.
Rosauro Pacubas, 58, of Manila had been convicted of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct. He was also ordered to pay more than $21,000 in restitution to the victim and ordered to register as a sex offender at sentencing Thursday in federal court in Baltimore.
According to government evidence, in March 2012, Pacubas traveled to Baltimore with his wife and the victim, who was to be evaluated at a local hospital. Prosecutors say Pacubas abused the victim during their hotel stay.
Authorities say the victim was enrolled at a therapeutic boarding school in North Carolina, where she disclosed the abuse.
