U. Of Md. Journalism Dean Says He Will Step Down
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- The dean of the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism says he will leave in June 2012 in order to teach at the college.
Kevin Klose, who was named the dean of the college in February 2009, made the announcement in phone calls to faculty as well as an email Tuesday evening. Before taking the job at the university he served as president of National Public Radio from 1998 to 2008 and was for 25 years an editor and reporter at The Washington Post.
The university has not yet announced plans to fill the position.
