U-Md. Center To Develop Environmental Solutions
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- The University of Maryland says it is launching a new center to develop solutions to environmental challenges.
The university says the center is being funded principally through a $27.5 million, five-year grant from the National Science Foundation. The school says the NSF grant is the largest it has ever received.
The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center, known as SeSynC, will research such issues as water availability,
sustainable food production and the interaction between human activity and healthy ecosystems.
