2 Navy Sailors Die During Dive Operation In Md.
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Two Navy sailors died during a dive operation at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
The U.S. Navy says two members of the Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit died at the Unexploded Ordnance Range pond around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
One of them died at the scene. The other was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The service members' next of kin have been notified, but the names are being withheld for 24 hours in accordance with Navy policy.
Explosives disposal experts are investigating the deaths.
