Tucker In Search Of Breaking 'Sports Hero' Vinatieri's Record

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Justin Tucker was in second grade when Adam Vinatieri's NFL career began, but now the two share the title for best in the league.

Since landing a four-year, $6.8 million contract during the offseason, Tucker has scored in a big way for Baltimore. Tucker and Vinatieri are each 18-for-18 on field goals this year, and both have made 11 kicks of at least 40 yards.

Last Sunday, Vinatieri broke the 12-year old NFL record held by kicker Mike Vanderjagt with his 43rd successful field goal in a row and Tucker is on the hunt too. Tucker said, "He's always been one of my favorite players to watch. He's one of my sports heroes."

Tucker has made 25 straight field goals so far this season but is aiming to keep the accuracy going.
