Traveling Library Of Congress Nearing Tour's End
URBANA, Md. (AP) -- A traveling exhibit of the Library of Congress is pulling into Urbana as it nears the end of a yearlong tour of more than 30 states.
The tractor-trailer carrying replicas of some of the library's top treasures plans a two-day stop at the Urbana Regional Library starting Friday.
The exhibit includes facsimiles of the 1455 Gutenberg Bible and a rough draft of the Declaration of Independence in Thomas Jefferson's hand.
It also features a copy of the drawings for the comic book that introduced Spider-Man to the world in 1962.
The traveling exhibit is bound for Culpeper, Va., Tuesday and Wednesday. The tour ends next weekend where it began, at the National Book Festival in Washington next weekend.
